Turning Lost Students into Christ-Centered Laborers
I am a lover of life and a servant of the King--on the adventure of serving Jesus through Campus Crusade for Christ. Every day I partner in sharing the love of Christ with young people on the University of Kentucky campus and around the world.
During the spring you see what “made” it of the seeds you planted. In many ways, campus ministry is the same. We work hard all year to meet students, sow broadly but tend richly, and pray that the Lord uses it. This spring I glanced back at a list of girls I have had the privilege of meeting with individually and was amazed. God allowed me to share the Gospel one-on-one with over 100 girls! Out of those 100, 9 accepted Christ, and 7 continued to meet with me regularly to grow in their faith.
At the end of April 2009 we took 40 of our future servant team and small group leaders on an overnight retreat. Many of them were freshmen or individuals who are newly involved in our ministry.
When evaluating this past year with the students, we realized that God brought around 80 freshmen to us. Students and staff have been able to share the Gospel with nearly 400 students and around 50 gave their life to Jesus.
Please be praying that this harvest will return and continue to multiply as school begins again in the fall. Thank you for helping these seeds to flourish. God is richly blessing our joint efforts to tell others about Him. Thank you for your commitment to seeing the Gospel take root in the lives of young people at UK and around the world.
Latest Update:
The summer of 2009 I spent 6 weeks in New York City. My task was to join students from other schools in New York and to disciple them and share Christ in a city of 1,000,000 college students. I am your ambassador to future artists, CEOs and possibly one of our nation’s presidents
