Discipleship
Discipleship for believers is the process of equipping them to be active, vibrant, obedient, consecrated people who then teach others the same characteristics. Discipleship of new believers who have just been called to faith in Jesus Christ is the process of mentoring them through Christian education and involvement with mature Christians so that they become mature, obedient and active Christians. Some aspects of discipleship (such as Christian education and involvement with other Christians) are natural and result in participation in Sunday school classes and small groups. Discipleship is, however, also handled with one or two people at a time. In any case, discipleship requires accountability and a commitment by all parties.
Since one of the goals of discipleship is to call believers to be servants. Success in this area can never be measured by the world's standard. If you are available to disciple others either in small groups, Sunday school, or in one-on-one situations please contact the Christian Education Committee here at West Hills.
