To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest; to all who mourn and long for comfort; to all who struggle and desire victory; to all who sin and need a Savior; to all who are strangers and want fellowship; to all who hunger and thirst after righteousness; and to whoever will come– this church opens wide her doors and offers her welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Foreign Missions

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

The purpose of the West Hills Presbyterian Church (WHPC) Foreign Missions Committee (FMC) is to organize, oversee, and direct WHPC’s foreign missions outreach worldwide in obedience to Christ’s Great Commission as stated above from the book of Matthew and below from the book of Acts.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be
my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 (ESV)

The FMC operates under the authority of the Session of WHPC. and focuses on facilitating, encouraging and promoting the message of Christ and His Saving Grace worldwide. Sharing this message worldwide involves the selection and support of qualified missionaries, Christian organizations, and special projects.

WHPC is commited to facilitating short-term mission trips to partner with and encourage churches in other countries. We currently offer opportunities to meet, encourage, and fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters in Cuba. A Cuba team member is available to provide additional information and direction regarding future trips.

Foreign missions programs are funded through annual Faith Promise giving. The FMC does not receive any funding from the WHPC General Fund, but trusts God to create a desire for missions in the hearts of WHPC members, leading them to give toward foreign missions. The FMC encourages financial giving through Faith Promise pledges, and facilitates vigilant prayer for and correspondence with missionaries in the field.
